FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sacramento County Division of Public Health has confirmed that a Grant Union High School student has been diagnosed with active TB. This student is currently under care.

Letters have been mailed to the parents of all students who may have been exposed.  Public Health and Grant Union High School have scheduled a time to provide screening tests to identified students.

"We do not anticipate that there is anyone else who has contracted the disease," said Sacramento County Public Health Officer Dr. Olivia Kasirye. “The risk of contraction is low.”

The school is working closely with Public Health.

If parents have any concerns or questions, they may call Grant Union High School at (916) 566-3450, ext. 65063.
